Summary: Experience our beautiful and diverse exhibit full of preserved and live animals to learn how they survive through amazing features of the senses from infrared vision to prehensile tails!
Reptiles and amphibians have sense organs that are highly specialized depending upon the species. These specializations in sight, smell, taste, hearing and/or touch increase the species chances of survival whether it be to evade a predator, catch their next meal or locate a mate.

The Reptiles & Amphibians themed guided tour matches well with our hands on experiences in the Herpetology Lab for all ages. Students get hands on experiences with real living animals, and guided time to ask and answer questions that real scientists grapple with!
This STEM lab provides opportunities for students to utilize the NGSS Science and Engineering Practices as well as small group, hands on experiences with our special exhibit resident reptiles and amphibians!
