In association with the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History, PaleoFest 2015, March 14 and 15, focuses on the Triassic and Jurassic time periods, "The Beginning of Dinosaurs and the Origin of the Modern World." Tickets go on sale in early December 2014.
Since 1999, Burpee Museum invites nationally and internationally recognized paleontologists to PaleoFest to present their research, the only forum of its kind that brings science and the general public together through a weekend-long event of family friendly activities and informative lectures. Past speakers include Drs. Scott Sampson, Michael Ryan, Robert Reisz, Mark Norell, Matt Lamanna, Kirk Johnson, Lance Grande, Mark Goodwin, Jack Horner, Thomas Holtz, Jr., Jason Head, David Evans, Hans Dieter-Sues, Philip Currie, and Bob Bakker. PaleoFest has become internationally recognized for bringing together the professional scientific community and people from around the world for this much anticipated annual event.
PaleoFest opens the door and makes science a public process, and allows interested students of any age to meet with scientists to discuss their educational interests.
