Why should I bring my class to Burpee Museum?
Your students will have a fun, educational experience, and you will be
meeting state standards.
I've never been to Burpee Museum. How do I set up a
field trip?
Call us! 815.965.3433 x1020. We will be happy to help you plan your visit.
What is the difference between a tour and a workshop?
A tour lasts one hour and your class will spend the time with a tour guide in
the exhibits. A workshop lasts two–three hours and includes the tour, plus an hour
of supplemental activities and a craft project.
Is bus parking available?
Yes! Bus parking is available in the Museum's parking lot. Students may be
dropped off at the front entrance before the bus is parked. Additional parking
is also available at Riverfront Museum Park. A tunnel connects Burpee Museum and
Riverfront Museum Park for safe and easy travel between buildings.
Can we do more than one tour?
Yes, lots of teachers choose to do 2 tours.
Another teacher at my school wants to bring her class at the
same time—is that possible?
Yes, each tour can accommodate 2 classes, each workshop up to 4 classes at a
time.
Can we bring lunches with us?
Yes! Ask to reserve the lunch room or picnic tables.
Do you have a gift shop?
Yes, Burpee's gift shop has many items available at reasonable prices. Ask about
pre-paid souvenir bags!
If I can't bring my class to the Museum, can you come to us?
Yes, we offer several Outreach Programs, including "Animal Encounters"—with live animals!
I teach middle school. Does Burpee offer anything for older
students?

programs designed especially for middle school students. Call us at 815.965.3433
